I like to think that I have achieved quite a few noteworthy goals this year. The greatest achievement is trekking up the Lombong Falls near Kota Tinggi.
I actually made it – for a person who has been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, some 16 years ago and the orthopedic specialists at NUH warned me that the problem would get worse as I aged. I was on painkiller (potassium diclofenac) for more than 10 years. Since I started practising qigong exercise 5 years ago, I have been reducing the dosage and am now totally off the painkiller. My mobility is improving and go trekking at Lombong Waterfalls testified the condition of my better physical health.
It has been more than 20 years since I last went trekking – I went up Gunung Ledang or popularly known as Mount Ophir. I love the outdoor and like to visit cool mountains and sunny beaches. Now, after suffering for more than 10 years, I can plan to go on more adventurous trips… Mount Kinabalu?
