My homepage, ShiHengCheong.com and this blog is now ranked Number 2 and Number 3 in Google.com.sg for the search terms seo singapore.
This blog had been in the 5th and 6th positions for more than 6 months and I was satisfied with the ranking. So getting to 2nd and 3rd position is really a pleasant surprise for me.
So how come the ranking improved?
Kelvin Hui, the web traffic expert based in Hong Kong, thinks that I am one of the SEO experts in Singapore. Honestly, I am flattered.

He mentioned 4 names in his blog post dated June 26, 2007. My friend Larry Lim is at the top of the list.
It was discussed at WebmasterWorld and reported by Matt Cutts’ Udi Manber interview that Google has 10,000 human evaluators to check the relevancy of their search results.
It was an open secret that Google has been using human evaluators to “clean out” their results since 2-3 years ago. But the revelation of the actual number is surprising. I mean 10,000 people working for Google, full-time or part-time, to check on Google search results is not very believable. I am sure at least 1 out of the 10,000 would have leaked this piece of secret before the VP of Engineering at Google announced publicly.
We brought forward the date of the next SEO Web Design Workshop to June 28 and 29 instead of the first week of July. This coming SEO Workshop will be different from the previous one.
I was really looking forward to this meeting. Why? Because, Larry (www.larrylim.net) had got his website ranked in the top 10 of Google search for the keywords Singapore SEO in less than 6 months and has been in the top 5 since last year.

This blog is now ranked PR4! That is, Google has pagerank’ed this blog from PR 0 to PR 4.

I’ve noticed Google dancing over the past 10 days. A couple of my websites suffered a drop in pagerank – from PR4 to PR3. I think it’s because I’ve neglected them(for a long time, maybe more than 9 months) and have not been adding new content and implemented new link building campaign with them. So it’s sort of expected.
The good news is, for those websites that I actively SEO and build links, the pagerank have improved. I have a couple of web pages gained from PR4 to PR5. One point to note is that, these websites are focusing on Singapore-based traffic – in my own jargon, it’s Singapore SEO‘ed!
However, gaining higher pagerank is one thing and actually gaining higher position in the search engine result is more important. Isn’t it?
I have been targeting Singapore-based traffic and also traffic from the region for more than 2 years now. I specifically SEO’ed my websites to target people searching for information, services and products on and from Singapore.
With the recent Taiwan Earthquake and Internet access chaos, the whole region including China Internet access was severely affected.
Virtually, all Internet traffic across the Pacific Ocean between Asia and the US was jammed on December 27, 2006.
My effort in creating websites focusing at Singapore related services and products started to generate more Adsense revenue. I have intentionally optimized for Singapore related keywords, that’s what I called Singapore SEO‘ed websites.
It was a year ago when I registered the domain SingaporeBusiness.info and started the website.
However, I did not implement Google ads until this month. One of the reasons was that the low traffic. The traffic started to exceed 3,000 pageviews 2 months ago.
