The IT Show 2010 is the first of the 4 big annual consumer electronics shows: in March, IT Show; in June, PC Show; in August, COMEX and in November, SITEX.

This year IT Show starts on Thursday, 11 March and last day on Sunday, 14 March at the Suntec Singapore. The opening hours of the IT Show 2010 is from 12 noon to 9pm daily.

Because I wrote about these computers, digital cameras and electronics events in a couple of my blogs over the past years, I have collected some very hot keywords. And traffic for IT Show related search is already going up. Visitors to my blog post on IT Show has nearly doubled.

Well, the obvious one is “it show”. However, people who knows about the IT Show and intend to visit the show are more likely to use “it show 2010″.

Still Not Too Late to SEO for IT Show 2010

It is not too late to write a good blog post on IT Show and get it ranked in Google and Yahoo. Avoid very hot keywords such as “it show“. Choose a longer search phrase to target. Alternatively, add brand names such as VAIO and Acer if you intend to write about laptops or Canon Powershot and Nikon Coolpix if you write about digital cameras.

If you are using AdWords to advertise on Google search or content pages, you may want to use the exact match for the above keywords. You may end up paying less and get better result in terms of converting visitors into customers.

I have been writing blog posts on Singapore’s Natas Fair since 2008 and in the process collected thousand of keywords related to this annual travel events. In fact, more than 4,725 keywords related to Natas Fair drove visitors to my blog posts via the search engines over the past 2 years. Out of all these keywords, I would say “natas fair” follows by the year for e.g. natas fair 2010 is always the hottest keyword.

Travel Agents Did Not Advertise on Google for Natas Fair

If you were AdSense publisher, you would be quite disappointed by the dearth of Google advertisers in Singapore for such an important travel event. You probably wonder why travel agents were not advertising on Google for Natas but spent hundred of thousands of dollars on trade fairs, print advertising and TV ads.

I had the feeling that Google resellers in Singapore were not working hard enough to look for travel agents to advertise on the search engine. Or they didn’t have the experience to promote for a one-time event that lasted for only 3 days. Hopefully, with better tools provided by Google e.g. Google Insights, they will do a better job and we will get more Natas Fair 2012 related ads in Google soon.

I have just spotted a common mistake that Singapore advertisers made. Because of this mistake, they are not getting the fullest out of their PPC marketing campaign. In fact, I think they are throwing money into the drain.

Go search at Google using the keyword – massage

Then look for the Sponsored Links. You should see these 2 top ads:

• Qi Mantra Massage – www.qimantra.com
• Renewal Day Spa – www.renewal.com.sg

The estimated cost per click is US$1 and estimated volume – clicks per day is between 11 to 17. So the owners of the above websites pay between US$11 to US$17 per day or US$330 to US$520(SGD450 to SGD765) per month to bring in 300 to 400 visitors to each of these websites.

Now that they have the traffic. What are they doing with these visitors?

Go visit the above websites and tell me by looking/reading at the web page, whether you are persuaded to make a phone booking or visit their spa within the next 7 days?

I won’t know your answer now but I can tell you, mine. I don’t think I will call or visit the spa. I can’t even remember the URL or the company name after looking around their websites.

See, the problem is, the website is “designed” so that you have to “look around” to find the information you’re searching for.

As a visitor who clicked at the PPC ad, I would expect immediate the information such as their massage services, what so good about their massage, how much it costs, what’s the number to call and where the spa is.

When you spend mony on PPC to get traffic, you must have a Most Wanted Response(MWR) from your visitors e.g. call to make a booking, provide name and contact information so that you can follow up, immediately buy your service and product online and etc.

In order to achieve your MWR, you will need a landing page customized for your PPC campaign. You want to convince, persuade and motivated your visitor to do something.

For example, the landing page for my PPC goes to http://DesignerSEO.com/workshop/ which is, in fact a form of sales letter. The MWR is to get the visitors to register for the SEO Web Design workshop!

So, before you go out to spend money on Google Adwords, decide what is your most wanted response and build a web page to get and maximize the response that you wanted.

Warning: Adsense Templates Sold by Internet Marketers

Not too long ago, Adsense templates was the hype and a very popular Adsense expert turned Internet marketer was selling such templates for hundreds of dollars. And many “Internet entrepreneurs” use these templates to build MFA(Made for Adsense) sites by web scraping article directory, blogs and news portals.

Do not waste your money and time to create more web trash. You are just making it more difficult for yourself to make money online.
