SEO to Target Singapore and Nearby Countries
I have been targeting Singapore-based traffic and also traffic from the region for more than 2 years now. I specifically SEO’ed my websites to target people searching for information, services and products on and from Singapore.
With the recent Taiwan Earthquake and Internet access chaos, the whole region including China Internet access was severely affected.
Virtually, all Internet traffic across the Pacific Ocean between Asia and the US was jammed on December 27, 2006.
SGBlogs88 Famous Singapore Blogs
I created this word-cloud site with Kian Ann in early July 2006. It was an experiment to learn how to drive traffic quickly.
So, we thought Singapore blogs is a good niche and we will attract lots of traffic because we know there are plenty of Singapore bloggers - people young and old are blogging or starting to blog. So we started with some famous Singapore blogs such as…

Finally, I am Blogging on Wordpress
Wordpress ROCKS! I am totally impressed by Wordpress. It was a breeze to import my existing own hosted version of Blogger.com blog to Wordpress.
I was a Blogger.com fan. You can read about why I like to use Blogger.com at this previous post:Why I Prefer Blogger

I think the main motivator for me to migrate to Wordpress is the new Blogger.com! It is now officially that Blogger Beta is out of Beta. I prefer the old Blogger.com where I have more freedom to customized the template. With the new Blogger.com, I cannot use my own template if I publish to my own server.
And I don’t know when Google is going to pull the plug and kill the good old Blogger.com!
More About Wordpress Blogging
It was easy to migrate the Blogger.com blog to Wordpress blog. However, the template customization is not so simple and easy. As you can see, I am using a modified default template. I have not learned how to really customized the template the way I wanted it - like what I can do with Blogger.com. But, there are many more advance features and advantages in Wordpress that make up for the not-yet-so-customized template.
As far as SEO is concerned, I believe Wordpress can do better than Blogger.com. Just give me some time and I will find my way around to get my template the way I think how a search engine optimized blog should be designed.
Clustered Failover Hosting
Nowadays, when I look for web hosting, the No. 1 concern is reliability and stability. I have several established websites that command a respectable stream of traffic everyday. I cannot afford downtime. Every minute of downtime will result in loss of income for me. So I am constantly looking for affordable web hosting service that can provide me high level of availability.
Yesterday, I came across this Clustered Failover Reseller Hosting from ResellerZoom. I am already using their budget hosting for several months and so far the performance has been excellent.
I was quite tempted to upgrade to the Failover Reseller Hosting. Reseller hosting means you can set up many seperate websites under one master hosting manager account.
I was really attracted by the very affordable pricing. Additionally, it includes private nameservers and dedicated IP address. At $24.95/month, I think it is a pretty good deal if all my websites can have nearly zero downtime.
Don’t Just Submit Any Article
There is no point submitting to article directories for the sake of backlinks and PR ranking. The point is Dense Writing Does Not Get Read and published by other webmasters. You’ll need good quality articles for your article marketing campaign.
CPT Certified Professional Trainers Program
I will be attending the Phase 2 module of the Certified Professional Trainers Course or CPT this weekend. I was invited by KC See, the master trainer of CPT to give a 1-hour presentation on How to Use the Internet to Promote Your Training Business. And I am still thinking if I should use these subject titles instead…
- Promote Your Training Business Online in 60 Minutes
- Exploit the Internet to Kick-Start Your Training Business
SEO eCommunity Networking Meeting
We had a networking session with participants of my SEO Workshop at SIM, Namely Ave, last evening. There were 14 of us and we have people from my April workshop to the recent October workshop.
Jolly organized this meeting and prepared a buffet dinner for us to eat, drink and talk. It was a great evening. We get to know one another better and found out the Internet business that we planned or already embarked on.
I think this is also a good way to get participants who are keen on starting an Internet business to find out what others are already doing and become motivated to start their own project.
TC Yeap was excited about his new found knowledge after attending the Big Seminar in the U.S. and also the recent World Internet Summit(WIS) in Singapore. He shared with us what he learned and compared the quality of participants he met in both events. Most of the people who attended Big Seminar had already started their Internet business and were there to network and exchange ideas among the big names in Internet marketing industry. However, in the WIS Singapore event most people were newbies looking to make money on the Internet. You can read more about TC’s experience at his Letter From Singapore blog and his post on Internet Business, Not Internet Marketing.
I hope we can organize such networking meeting more often - at least once every 3 months.
