Why I prefer Blogger

1. Efficiency

2. Stability

3. Reliability

It is very efficient engine if your blog entries are short and infrequently, 2 or 3 posts a week or less. It’s stability has been tested by millions of users for many years now. If you can rely on Google to be available online every time you need to do a search, you can expect to same with Blogger when you feel like blogging.

Why I have not started using server based script like Wordpress, b2evo and other CMS?

I tried Wordpress, b2evo, Mambo, Nucleus and etc. Installing them is easy. But when it comes to moving server, you will have to backup and restore the MYSQL database, reinstall the skin and plugins and many other customization. If I do not need to customise, I would not have needed them in the first place - and I’ll be better offer using an easy software like Blogger.

Search Engine Optimization For Your Blog

As for SEO performance, Blogger offers nothing signficant except for the static pages. Wordpress is the preferred platform for those who are concerned about SEO Blogging and for Internet marketers.

For SEO purposes, you will have to take note how your blog engine generates the URL for your post. URL like this:

http://www.contentseo.com/main/index.php?catid=3&blogid=1

will not do as well as, say,

http://www.contentseo.com/search_engine_optimized_content

The SE friendly URL requires mod-rewrite and is Wordpress has this feature.

I will be publishing a total of 10 or more articles on how-to guide and tips. I really hope this will help people to make the right decision when choosing their web host and not just select the cheapest web hosting company.

Niche Article Directory

My previous post reported that I was researching on building niche sites. However, after some thought, I believed I got a better idea. Why not build a niche articles directory instead. In that way I can load it up with my own articles on various niches and also get interesting articles already available in popular article diretories such as www.goarticles.com, www.ezinearticles.com, www.articlewarehouse.com and etc.

I know there may be already too many of such article directories and the search engines may take drastic action to filter out duplicated contents. But then again, never try never know. One thing is for sure, I will need to contribute my own original articles to make my niche directory unique.

Also, I will need to spend some money on paid directory listing and PPC ads to get other to submit their niche articles to this directory. So stay tuned and I will report my progess here.

Building Profitable Niche Websites Fast

As mentioned in my previous post, I was researching on niche marketing and came upon an interesting article on building niche sites. The author John Taylor wrote about niche blogsites in his article “How To Build A Profitable Niche Site Within 27 Minutes”.

Experience showed that one of the main advantages of using blogs is that your web page gets to be indexed by major search engines quicker than traditional website. With proper strategy, your niche blogs are likely to outrank your competitors in the search engine results listing. Read about what you need to do here: Profitable Niche Site - Blogging Strategy.

When blogging, I prefer to use Blogger. It is quick, easy and convenient. However, it does lack many advanced features found in other platforms such as Wordpress and MovableType. I suggest that you start with Blogger and as you become better, you can always move to the more sophisticated platforms.
